Tinubu praises Olubadan Ladoja’s resilience at coronation

By Adejayan Gbenga –

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Friday lauded the perseverance and resilience of the new Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, saying his determination through challenges has finally paid off.

Speaking at Mapo Hall during the coronation of the 44th Olubadan, Tinubu recalled the political turbulence that led to Ladoja’s removal as Oyo State governor, noting that his eventual reinstatement reflected his courage and dogged spirit.

“Let me salute the Imperial Majesty, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, Arusa I, and all other traditional rulers. Today is an important occasion. I am honoured to witness history and your coronation. It is a great moment that you ascend the throne of your forebears,” Tinubu said.

The President also acknowledged the presence of former governors Donald Duke, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, and Gbenga Daniel, describing the event as one of unity and celebration.

“There is a bright light at the end of the tunnel,” Tinubu added.
