Tinubu presents APC flag to Uzodinma, Ododo, Sylva ahead of Nov 11 elections
President Bola Tinubu has presented the All Progressive Congress, APC, party flags to the governorship candidates of Imo, Kogi and Bayelsa state, Hope Uzodinma, Usman Ododo and Timipre Sylva ahead of the governorship elections in the states scheduled for November 11.
The president made the presentation to the candidates at the State House in Abuja on Thursday while receiving the candidates who were led by APC National Chairman, Abdulliah Ganduje.
The president also extended his gratitude to the candidates for the good job they have done in their respective states during the electioning campaign period.
Tinubu also applauded Ganduje, saying he has done a great job ensuring the victory of the party in the coming elections.
INEC had slated November 11 for the bye-elections in Imo, Kogi, and Bayelsa states.
Speaking on the coming elections, Tinubu said it is his hope that the candidates contesting in the polls come victorious.
He said, “Your excellencies, particularly the governor of Kogi who is working hard to hand over to another product of our party, Usman Ododo. We’re happy to have you here.
“Hope Uzodinma, the great hope of our party and the Chairman, Progressive Governors Forum. Thank you for the good job you have been doing.
“Timipre Sylva, congratulations on what you’ve achieved as a former Governor and a Former Minister of Petroleum Resources.
“The National Working Committee. The Honorable Minister, Prince Audu and many of you here. We are all fronting a crusade for democracy, in particular, in this off season election. And it’s our hope and my hope, we believe you will all always come victorious.
“We pray to God Almighty to give you victory. Many thanks to our party leadership, National Working Committee, and our hardworking chairman who has held me hostage since morning. Who said ‘you are going nowhere until you present the flags to our governorship candidates.’
“The Chairman is doing a good job. And thank you for all you are doing. Well, I’m ready.”
