Tinubu reacts to Plateau killing, directs immediate mobilisation of relief to victims

President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday condemned what he describes as heinous and brutal attacks in Bokkos and Barkin-Ladi Local Government Areas of Plateau State, which resulted in the tragic loss of many lives.

In a statement released through his spokeswoman, Ajuri Ngalale, President Tinubu ordered security agents to move in right now, search the entire area, and capture the offenders.

“The President also directs immediate mobilization of relief resources for surviving victims of the primitive and cruel attacks as well as medical treatment for the wounded,” the statement read.

“While condoling with the government and the people of Plateau State, President Tinubu assures Nigerians that these envoys of death, pain, and sorrow will not escape justice.”

According to media reports, No fewer than seventy six persons were killed by assailants in Bokkos and Barkin-Ladi area of the state.

In reaction, Senators from the 19 northern states under the aegis of Northern Senators Forum have urged the Federal Government to identify, apprehend and punish those behind the recent Killings in Jos, Plateau State.

They also want the government to draw action from reports of investigation of similar cases, and take necessary steps to prevent future occurrences.
