Tinubu reinstates NTA DG, Executive Director of News, cancels previous appointments

President Bola Tinubu has ordered the reinstatement of Mr. Salihu Abdullahi Dembos as Director-General of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), reversing earlier management changes at the public broadcaster.

The decision was communicated in a statement on Tuesday by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy.

Dembos, who was first appointed in October 2023, will now return to complete his three-year tenure.

The President also recalled Mr. Ayo Adewuyi as Executive Director of News, directing him to serve out his term, which runs until 2027. Adewuyi was appointed in 2024.

The directive effectively nullifies previously announced appointments for a new NTA Director-General, Executive Director of News, Executive Director of Marketing, and Managing Director of NTA Enterprises.
