Tinubu swears in new Head of Service, Didi Walson-Jack

President Bola Tinubu has officially sworn in Didi Walson-Jack as the new Head of Service of the Federation, succeeding the outgoing Head of Service, Folasade Esan. The ceremony took place just before the commencement of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, which also included a valedictory session in honor of Esan.
During the swearing-in, President Tinubu acknowledged the significant role Walson-Jack is assuming, noting that she has “big shoes to fill” following the exceptional tenure of her predecessor. He expressed his confidence in her abilities and offered prayers for divine wisdom to guide her in effectively leading the federal civil service.
In his remarks about the outgoing Head of Service, President Tinubu lauded Esan for her outstanding service to the nation, emphasizing her dedication, efficiency, and professionalism. “We must thank her for serving our nation exceptionally well,” the President said. “Her unwavering commitment to the service of the nation has been truly exemplary.”
Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, also paid tribute to Esan’s dedication and her efforts to enhance the performance of civil servants across the country. He highlighted her role in implementing policies that have strengthened the federal civil service, stating that she is leaving behind “a legacy of excellence for civil servants to follow.”
