Tinubu’s policies has had great impact on foreign investment in Enugu State, says Governor Mbah

Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu state has said that the recent policies initiated by the current administration of President Bola Tinubu has yielded great strides and improved impact in his state.

Governor Mbah stated this on Saturday during a courtesy visit to President Tinubu in Lagos.

WesternPost reported how several dignitaries including the Vice President Kashim Shettima paid homage to President Tinubu in his home state.

At the meeting, Mbah also spoke about the president Tinubu policy on the exchange rate and the removal of the fuel subsidy, saying that it has essentially attracted a lot of foreign direct investments in his state.

He said, ”Essentially, I came to convey warm greetings and season’s best wishes on behalf of the government and the good people of Enugu state to Mr. President. I also seize the opportunity to discuss with Mr. President about how some of the policies he has initiated the impact those policies have had on some of the things we’re doing in Enugu state, particularly as it relates to the attraction of FDI’s.

“The effects of the unification of the exchange rate and the removal of the fuel subsidy. They have essentially meant that a number of foreign direct investments are flowing towards our direction, particularly in Enugu state.”

Recall that President Tinubu had during his inaugural speech on May 29 directed the removal of subsidy, which has drained billions of dollars from the country’s economy.

In an attempt to assuage the impact of the policies, President Tinubu also promised the state governments that, among other things, his administration would give the manufacturing sector N75 billion between July 2023 and March 2024 to help mitigate the effects of the removal of fuel subsidies.

Mbah also disclosed that his government in Enugu has begun the construction of 260 Smart Schools and 260 Primary Health Care Centres across all the wards in the States.

“We’re building as you may already know, 260 Smart Schools across all the wards in the States. We’re doing 260 Primary Health Care Centres type two across all the wards. So there are a whole lot of new things. We’re migrating our manual ways of doing things in our various institutions and our various MDAs to a digital platform. So, we can offer an efficient service to the people of the state.”
