Tinubu’s second term will guarantee unending growth for Nigeria – APC chieftain

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. Kehinde Olaosebikan, has expressed strong confidence that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s second term would usher in sustained growth and development across Nigeria.

Speaking with journalists in Ibadan over the weekend, Olaosebikan predicted that by the end of his tenure in 2031, Tinubu would hand over to a competent successor, much like he did in Lagos in 2007 when he chose Babatunde Raji Fashola as governor.

He described the opposition from some northern politicians as misguided and counterproductive, insisting that Tinubu’s full constitutional two terms were in the best interest of both the North and the country as a whole.

According to him, Tinubu will not only leave Nigeria better than he met it but will also ensure a seamless leadership transition to maintain the momentum of progress already being recorded.

Olaosebikan praised Tinubu’s current reforms, which he said are already reviving the economy, industry, and commerce. He called for unity and total support for the President from Nigerians in all regions.

He urged critics to end their resentment and join the majority of Nigerians who support Tinubu’s leadership, noting that the President has a track record of selecting capable successors and building enduring institutions.

Recalling Tinubu’s legacy in Lagos, he said the President laid a solid foundation that Fashola and other successors built upon, leading to Lagos becoming a model for other states and one of Africa’s largest economies.

Olaosebikan concluded that if Tinubu could sustain unmatched success in Lagos for over two decades, the transformation being established in Nigeria under his leadership would be long-lasting and irreversible.
