Toluwani Odukoya reflects on failed marriage, says God didn’t ordain it

Toluwani Odukoya, an associate senior pastor and one of the children of the late Senior Pastor of The Fountain of Life Church, Taiwo Odukoya, has said that despite being divorced from her husband, her ex remains a great man.

In her words, “My ex-husband is a great man… but if God doesn’t ordain you to be together and you force-fit yourselves, the likelihood of staying together is very low.”

In a recent interview, the pastor also revealed how her separation from her husband, alongside a series of personal tragedies, shaped her faith and calling as an associate pastor.

Odukoya disclosed that she separated from her husband due to circumstances beyond her control, noting that their marriage was not ordained by God.

The 40-year-old mother likened the end of her marriage to “a death,” adding that between 2021 and 2023 she endured the deaths of her stepmother, her father’s twin sister, and her father, Pastor Taiwo Odukoya.

Odukoya said that despite all she was going through, she embraced her pastoral calling, even when she felt unworthy.

She also acknowledged the crucial role her family, especially her late father, played in supporting her during those turbulent years, saying her siblings and father stood firmly by her.

Toluwani’s brother, Jimmy, who is also a Nollywood actor, currently leads The Fountain of Life Church as the senior pastor following the demise of their father.
