Tonto Dikeh responds to criticism of her appreciation post for ex-husband Churchill

Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh, has responded to critics who condemned her for doing too much over an appreciation post directed at her ex-husband, Olakunle Churchill, in celebration of Mother’s Day.
In a celebratory message shared on her Instagram Story, Tonto thanked Churchill for making her a mother, while also using the opportunity to appreciate his mother.
She wrote: “Churchill, thank you my Gee for making me a mother. One of the most beautiful parts of my story, and happy Mother’s Day to your amazing mother. God bless you Big Church.”
The message sparked criticism among social media users, who accused her of doing too much, noting that Churchill is now married to someone else.
Responding to the backlash, the actress said her action was meant to portray what healthy co-parenting should look like.
“Doing too much? For the only man who has put a child in me? The world is truly a sick place and I’m grateful I don’t let your opinions direct me.
“When it gets to your turn, don’t thank them. How would you understand the meaning of joy and peace that makes no sense? How would you understand healthy co-parenting if I don’t show you all?” she wrote on Instagram.
