Tribunal ruling, a victory for all- Sanwo-Olu

The governor of Lagos state, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Monday said the result of the Lagos election tribunal ruling which affirmed him as duly elected was a victory for all.
It would be recalled that the Tribunal dismissed the petition filed by both the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labour Party (LP).
Sanwo-Olu made this statement at his office in Lagos House Ikeja after the judges delivered the judgement.
He called on the oppositions to support him in making Lagos a better state, assking them to bring out ideas that could move the State forward.
He said “ I learnt the case of PDP was thrown out. The second reading was between ourselves again and the labour party. I am glad to announce with the information I have being given that both judgments were announced in our favour. I want to first commend the judiciary and the judges that gave this judgment. It was a well thought out and a well detailed judgment explaining to everyone the reasons that has led them to the conclusion. They had to give today and so we want to thank them for doing a good job for the state and for the nation.
“As it is right now , Mr Deputy and I feel too privileged to thank all Lagosians for staying with us. For us it is a victory for us. We don’t want to come here to say somebody has lost or somebody has won.All of us are all winners.I still want to give an opportunity to all of the candidates that contested with us, if they feel the passion that we have to serve, we can still speak to them in what way they can serve the state. The state is big and the challenges are real and the opportunities are boundless for everyone to contribute in one way or the other. For us it is really about service, about ensuring all of the promises that we have given to Lagosians, this verdict has given us the opportunity to double up and truly give the dividends of democracy”.
Sanwo-Olu also noted that the last governorship election in the state was a tough one, adding that at the end of the day the voices of Lagosians were heard and upheld in the case.
