Seven people were injured on Monday when two trucks collided at Arinkinkin in the Agric area of Ogbomoso, Oyo State.

Chairman of the Oyo State Fire Service, Mr. Morouf Akinwande, confirmed the incident in a statement issued on Tuesday in Ibadan.

Akinwande explained that the accident, which occurred around 1:15 p.m., involved a truck carrying unidentified chemicals and another loaded with grains. The chemical-laden truck caught fire after the collision.

Firefighters, led by CFM Oladejo Kola, quickly arrived at the scene and extinguished the fire before it could spread to the second truck.

“Only the truck with chemicals was affected, while the one conveying grains was saved,” Akinwande said.

He added that seven victims with minor injuries were rescued and taken to Bowen Teaching Hospital by officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogbomoso Division, for treatment.

Vehicular movement along the route has since returned to normal.
