Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, has reaffirmed the federal government’s commitment to safeguarding farmers’ land rights and enhancing agricultural productivity in Udobo, Gamawa Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
Speaking during a visit to the community, Tuggar outlined President Bola Tinubu’s strategy to combat food insecurity, emphasizing rural empowerment, science-driven agriculture, and climate-resilient infrastructure.
In a statement by his media aide, Alkasim Abdulkadir, the minister assured local farmers and pastoralists that the government would mitigate the effects of economic reforms while ensuring sustainable land use.
He commended the Udobo community’s agricultural potential and promised continued support to protect farmlands.
Tuggar further revealed that, in collaboration with the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), the government would improve water access in Udobo’s fadama wetlands.
The initiative includes the introduction of climate-smart agricultural tools to boost productivity and improve the livelihoods of local farmers.
The minister further highlighted interventions he facilitated to support flood victims in Gamawa Local Government Area, including Udobo, following last year’s devastating floods.
