TVC hails Stella Din-Jacob’s appointment as NTA Executive Director, News
TVC Communications has congratulated its outgoing Director of News, Stella Din-Jacob, on her appointment as Executive Director, News of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA).
Din-Jacob’s appointment, confirmed by the Federal Government, takes immediate effect. The development has been described as a testament to her professionalism, leadership, and contributions to broadcast journalism in Nigeria.
In a message to staff, TVC’s Chief Executive Officer, Victoria Ajayi, commended Din-Jacob, fondly called “The General” by colleagues, for her outstanding service and leadership over the past six years.
“While we are saddened to see her move on, we are extremely proud that her journey continues in service to the nation. Stella has been instrumental in sustaining our ‘First for Breaking News’ mantra, and we know she will make us proud in her new role,” the CEO said.
Din-Jacob joined TVC News in 2018 after holding senior editorial roles at Silverbird Group, Minaj Broadcast Network, and Channels Television. She was credited with creating award-winning programmes, mentoring young journalists, and elevating TVC News into one of the top three most-watched news channels in Nigeria.
She also led correspondents across more than 30 states and oversaw what was regarded as the most extensive election coverage in Nigeria’s history during the 2023 polls. Her achievements earned her recognition as the No. 1 Woman in Journalism in Africa by WiJAfrica in 2024.
TVC described her new role as “well-deserved,” noting that her appointment reflects the confidence of the Federal Government in her ability to strengthen national broadcasting.
“On behalf of the management team and all of us at TVC Communications, we warmly congratulate Stella on this milestone and wish her the very best as she takes on this national responsibility,” the statement added.
