The Oyo State Fire Service has recovered two bodies from separate wells in Saki and Ogbomoso, the agency confirmed on Wednesday.

The first incident occurred on Monday in the Mokola area of Saki, where a 45-year-old man lost his life while attempting to rescue a goat trapped in a deep well.

The Service’s Chairman, Hon. Maroof Akinwande, said officers swiftly carried out the operation and retrieved the man’s body safely.

Akinwande also disclosed that on Tuesday, the body of a 30-year-old man, identified as Shina Adedeji, was recovered from a well in the Aje Ikose area of Ogbomoso.

The Oyo State Fire Service (Ogbomoso zone) responded promptly and successfully retrieved the deceased.

“These unfortunate incidents highlight the risks involved in attempting rescues without proper safety measures,” Akinwande added.

The Oyo State Fire Service has urged residents to exercise caution around wells and deep water sources to prevent similar tragedies.
