UAE president to visit Nigeria following bilateral talks with Tinubu

United Arab Emirates (UAE) President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has accepted an invitation from Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to visit Nigeria later in 2025.
The invitation was extended during a bilateral meeting held on Wednesday night on the sidelines of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week.
President Tinubu, who arrived in Abu Dhabi on Sunday, participated in the global forum as a guest of the UAE leader. The event serves as a platform for fostering international collaboration on sustainable development and addressing pressing challenges such as climate change, water scarcity, and energy crises.
During their meeting at the Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental, both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening economic cooperation and attracting investment into Nigeria.
President Tinubu highlighted his administration’s ongoing economic reforms, emphasizing their role in stabilizing and growing Nigeria’s economy. He pointed to recent billion-dollar investments by foreign firms and international oil companies as evidence of renewed confidence in Africa’s largest economy.
Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan expressed the UAE’s determination to deepen ties with Nigeria and thanked President Tinubu for his participation in the Sustainability Week.
The discussions also focused on partnerships in energy, infrastructure, and other critical sectors to foster mutual growth.
Accompanying President Tinubu were key members of his administration, including Foreign Affairs Minister Yusuf Tuggar, Finance Minister Wale Edun, and National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu. Representing the UAE were Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of State Reem bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy, and Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, among others.
President Tinubu also expressed gratitude for the warm reception extended to him and his delegation in the UAE.
