UK increases visa fees for students, visitors from April 9

The United Kingdom has announced an increase in visa fees across multiple categories, including student, visitor, sponsorship, and transit visas. The new pricing will take effect from April 9, 2025.
This adjustment follows the UK government’s decision to raise fees for various immigration and nationality applications to generate additional revenue for public services.
Among the affected categories, students and visitors will experience significant cost increases. The standard visitor visa for stays of up to six months will see a rise, while student visa applicants will also face higher charges. Also, fees for work and settlement visas are set to increase.
The UK Home Office stated that the changes align with the government’s broader financial strategies and aim to balance the cost of immigration services.
Applicants planning to travel, study, or work in the UK are advised to check the updated fee structure before submitting their applications to avoid unexpected costs.
