The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN), Professor Wahab Egbewole (SAN), on Monday unveiled the institution’s golden jubilee anniversary logo, marking the start of celebrations for its 50th anniversary.

Professor Egbewole reaffirmed his commitment to implementing strategic plans designed to elevate the university to world-class status as it commemorates this milestone.

He outlined the institution’s 2024–2028 strategic plan, which focuses on advancing research, enhancing infrastructure, and strengthening community engagement.

“Our strategic plan is a work in progress, and it will place the university on the right pedestal,” he stated. “We are committed to pushing the boundaries of research, improving infrastructure, and fostering meaningful community engagement. An innovation hub and other projects are already in place to drive student initiatives.”

The Vice Chancellor highlighted the university’s progress over the past year, emphasizing efforts to address challenges and produce graduates equipped to be job creators rather than job seekers. He also called on alumni to actively support the university’s development initiatives.

At the event, the Chairman of the 50th Anniversary Ceremonial Committee, Professor Olugbenga Mokuolu, explained the significance of the anniversary logo, describing it as a representation of the university’s aspirations and vision as it celebrates its golden jubilee.
