Former Osun State Governor and interim National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Coalition, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, has called on members of the ADC in Ondo State to close ranks and unite ahead of the 2027 general elections to unseat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Aregbesola made this appeal on Thursday while addressing ADC stakeholders in Akure, the Ondo State capital, where he stressed that unity among party members and coalition partners is the only path to electoral victory.
“Let us put aside our personal interests. What we need now is unity. With unity, we cannot be defeated. We still have time before the next elections, but the task ahead is huge,” Aregbesola said.
“We must begin now to prepare presidential, National Assembly, and state elections are all ahead of us.”
The former Minister of Interior noted that the ADC coalition is gaining momentum as prominent political figures from various opposition platforms have expressed support for the movement.
Also speaking at the meeting, the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) candidate for the upcoming Ondo governorship election, Mr. Gbenga Edema, said the gathering was important for party members to be updated on the direction and vision of the coalition.
“Since the coalition chose the ADC as the platform to run its affairs, this is the first time a national figure is briefing us in person.
