Unknown gunmen kill 10, wound scores in Imo

His Royal Highness, Igwe Ilonwa Sabestine Emele, from the ancient Kingdom of Umuezealaduru of Diakuma Okigwe local government of Imo state was among those murdered on his farmland in his Village on the 15th of March 2020 by unknown gunmen.

As at the time of filing this report, investigations are still ongoing, and no suspects have been apprehended so far. 

According to the eyewitness report, the attackers were unchallenged by security forces in the state, and it happened around Ojukwu Street, Umuchima, Owerri Road, Okigwe by Union Bank. 

The eyewitness hinted that no fewer than 10 persons were confirmed dead as suspected Fulani herdsmen strike in the council area of the state, while the motif behind such cruel attack remains unknown 

The Imo state house of Assembly in reaction to the barbaric act have summoned the State’s Commissioner of Police,  Olaniyi Fafowora to appear at the floor of the state assembly next Tuesday.

Fafowora’s invitation was sequel to the motion moved by Chidiebere Ogbunike, a member representing Okigwe state constituency, during plenary on Thursday where he registered his displeasure on the invasion of suspected Fulani herdsmen in the area.
