UPDATE: Meeting with President Tinubu on Ondo political crisis rescheduled

The meeting between President Bola Tinubu and stakeholders from Ondo State over the political crisis in the state has been rescheduled, WesternPost can exclusively report.

WesternPost had earlier reported that President Tinubu was scheduled to meet with stakeholders in the state which included the Deputy Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, members of the state house of assembly, appointees of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu and other leaders from the state.

The meeting slated for 2:00pm was meant to put to bed the crisis which had engulfed the state involving Akeredolu and his deputy with the assembly commencing impeachment proceedings against Akeredolu.

WesternPost also reported that some members of the assembly had finalised plans to declare Aiyedatiwa as acting governor before President Tinubu called for the meeting today.

There is no clear reason, for the rescheduling of the meeting, but presidency sources told WesternPost it will be moved to a later time.

Before the rescheduling, the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Olamide Oladiji, and some members of the House were sighted at the Presidential Villa. Also sighted is Babajide Akeredolu, son of Governor Aleredolu.

The Deputy Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa was yet to arrive when the announcement of the rescheduling was made.
