UPDATE: Tinubu holds late night meeting with Ondo political stakeholders

…meeting rescheduled from 2pm

President Bola Tinubu held a late night meeting with political stakeholders in Ondo State towards resolving the crisis between Governor Rotimi Akeredolu and his Deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

WesternPost had earlier reported that the meeting initially scheduled for 2pm was moved to a later time.

While no reason was given for the shift of the meeting, the President had used the time to meet with Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma and Kogi State Governor-Elect Ahmed Usman-Udodo, both of who presented to the President their certificates of return following their victories in the November 11 governorship elections held in their two states.

Present at the meeting were Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello and National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Abdullahi Ganduje.

The Ondo Stakeholders meeting with President Tinubu, which was initially stood down, was reconvened later in the evening.

At the reconciliatory talks were Aiyedatiwa, Secretary to the Ondo State Governor, Princess Oladunni Odu and some members of the Ondo State House of Assembly led by their Speaker, Olamide Oladiji.
Also at the meeting was Babajide Akeredolu, son of Governor Akeredolu.
Ganduje was also in attendance at the meeting with the president.

Issues discussed were yet to be known as of the time of filing this report, but WesternPost had earlier reported that the assembly members are planning to declare Aiyedatiwa as acting governor.

Akeredolu has not set his foot in the state since he returned to the country from medical leave on September 7, staying away in his Ibadan, Oyo State residence.
