Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, has called on the graduates of the Army War College Course 8/2024 to prioritize national security in alignment with President Bola Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope Agenda.”

Badaru made the appeal during the graduation ceremony held at the Army War College in Abuja. The event marked the culmination of 35 weeks of intense training in national security, military strategy, and operational art for the graduates.

In his keynote address, Badaru, who was the Special Guest of Honour, praised the graduates for their perseverance and dedication, emphasizing the critical role their newly acquired skills will play in leadership and strategic military operations.

“It is a great honour to stand before you today at the graduation ceremony for the participants of Army War College Course 8/2024. Your journey to this moment involved 35 weeks of rigorous training, intellectual stimulation, and growth, as well as personal sacrifice,” Badaru said. He described the event as a testament to the graduates’ resilience and commitment to excellence.

Focusing on their future responsibilities, Badaru highlighted the importance of their roles as operational and strategic leaders within Nigeria’s Armed Forces.

“Today’s graduation marks your transformation from tactical to operational and strategic-level leaders. Leadership is the cornerstone of military service, extending beyond orders to inspiring and guiding others towards a common goal. You are now equipped with the tools to navigate the geostrategic landscape,” he stated.

The Minister urged the graduates to lead with integrity and courage as they face increasingly complex security challenges. He noted that their training has prepared them to address uncertain and perilous situations with confidence and determination.

Badaru also expressed his gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for his continued support of the Nigerian military, while commending the efforts of the Chief of Army Staff, the College Governing Board, the Commandant, faculty members, and the families of the graduates.

In closing, Badaru congratulated the graduates, assuring them that their future is bright and expressing confidence in their ability to serve the nation with distinction.
