US involvement in Iran conflict has eroded its global power, says Oluwo
By Deborah Oladejo, Osogbo –
The Oluwo of Iwoland, His Imperial Majesty Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, has declared that the United States has lost its supremacy as a global power over its involvement in the ongoing conflict between America, Israel, and Iran.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, reacting to the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the monarch described the confrontation as needless and avoidable.
According to Oba Akanbi, “America has lost their supremacy. As a true world power, you don’t take sides when two parties are at war. US involvement without calling for a truce has made them lose the grip of world power. It was a needless and avoidable confrontation. I doubt if it will end well for America.”
He condemned the killing of the 86-year-old Iranian leader, describing it as a sin against humanity and warning that it could further jeopardise international peace.
“I suppose the US and Israel have swallowed a pestle. You can still be a world power in peace. What war can do, peace can achieve more,” he said, recalling that Iran survived years of sanctions.
Oba Akanbi criticised the US for its current actions, saying the approach “is of no quantifiable essence” and urged a more measured and peaceful stance.
He added, “Only coward countries can surrender themselves in such an approach deployed by the US president, Donald Trump. I love America so much but its President should rethink his leadership style. Bombing innocent students in their attacks on Iran was a pure demonstration of cowardice.”
The traditional ruler concluded by urging the US to apologise, saying, “Iran has proved to America that not all countries are coward like Venezuela. Iran has spoken in words and actions. Trump should apologise to Iran and the world at large. It’s not too late to right the wrong.”
