‘Very flattering,’ Kemi Badenoch reacts to Nicki Minaj’s comparison to Margaret Thatcher

Leader of the UK Conservative Party, Kemi Badenoch, has described as “very flattering” comments by rapper Nicki Minaj comparing her to former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.

Badenoch made the remarks in a viral clip on Friday while reacting to praise from Minaj, who recently likened the Conservative Party leader to Thatcher, one of Britain’s most influential political figures.

“It was very flattering to hear Nicki Minaj compare me to Margaret Thatcher, who is a heroine of mine and, in fact, a heroine to all Conservatives,” Badenoch said.

The British politician also revealed that she and her children are fans of Minaj’s music, particularly the hit song Starships.

“I do like her song ‘Starships’; I’ve been dancing to it for a long time, as have my children,” she added.

Badenoch said the comments reflected growing international attention on her role in challenging the ruling Labour Party in the United Kingdom.

“So it’s very flattering that even in the US, people can see who is holding Labour to account. It’s the Conservatives. It is me,” she stated.

On Thursday, Western Post reported a post by the American rapper and multiple Grammy-nominated artist reacting to a thread featuring a clip shared by UK broadcaster Patrick Christys, who praised Badenoch’s performance in the UK House of Commons. She the British politician could one day be portrayed in film and television in the same way as former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, following a viral parliamentary exchange.

“The UK is truly one of a kind. They will portray her in film & TV one day… just like they did with Margaret Thatcher.”
