VeryDarkMan says N180 million was stolen from NGO account
Social media pundit, Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has claimed that more than ₦180 million was taken from his NGO’s account.
In an Instagram video posted on Friday, Otse addressed the matter and disclosed that the money had been transferred to an unidentified account.
“I’ve not been myself these past few days,” Otse shared. “Somebody hacked into the NGO website, and N180 million is missing. Thankfully, we’ve tracked the person, and one suspect has been arrested.
“The account is now on PND (Post No Debit). There’s N20 million left, while N160 million was diverted. We’re heading to Jos to recover the money.”
To prevent such breaches, he also revealed that the NGO’s app was temporarily unavailable for maintenance. He promised supporters that they would receive updates on the recovery operations.
When Otse started the Martins Vincent Osei Initiative in October, he received almost ₦35 million in donations in a matter of hours. Music producer Don Jazzy, whose real name is Michael Collins Ajereh, gave ₦100 million to the cause shortly after.
