Veteran journalist Biliqis Oladimeji emerges as Amirah Kwara FOMWAN

Veteran journalist Hajia Biliqis Modupe Oladimeji has been appointed the new Amirah of the Federation of Muslim Women’s Associations in Nigeria (FOMWAN), Kwara State chapter. She emerged through a consensus during the association’s 40th Anniversary and Stepdown of the National Conference held in Offa.

Hajia Biliqis will lead the new executive council with Hajia Rukayat Adegboyega Adeagbo, who was named secretary.

Speaking at the inauguration, Board of National Trustees’ member Hajia Raliat Sanni urged the new leadership to promote transparency, unity, and cooperation as they steer the affairs of the organisation.

She called for stronger collaboration with women’s groups and local government chapters, stressing the importance of leadership rooted in Qur’anic principles, justice, and effective communication.

In her acceptance speech, the newly appointed Amirah expressed gratitude to the Board of Advisers, members, and local chapters for their confidence in her.

A retired Head of Centre at the Federal Ministry of Information and former Naibah Amirah, Hajia Biliqis pledged to work with executives across the state’s three senatorial districts to strengthen FOMWAN and deepen its impact statewide.
