VIDEO: Buhari returns to Daura after defending Nigeria in Paris against Sunrise Power

Former President Muhammadu Buhari returned to Daura, his hometown, on Friday after defending Nigeria before the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in Paris in connection with the $2.3 billion arbitration case filed by Sunrise Power.

Sunrise Power had taken the country to a French arbitration court, demanding $400 million in compensation over the failed Mambilla Hydro Power Project in Taraba State.

In a letter to the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi, former President Buhari stated that he never approved any payment as compensation to Sunrise Power, citing his firm belief that the company sought to defraud the country by demanding payment for work it had not done.
