VP Shettima reaffirms FG’s commitment to youth empowerment

Vice President Kashim Shettima has reiterated the unwavering commitment of Federal Government to youth empowerment, emphasizing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s profound respect and support for Nigeria’s younger generation.
During a courtesy visit on Friday by the All Progressives Congress (APC) youth wing, led by National Youth Leader Dayo Israel, Shettima highlighted the administration’s ongoing initiatives aimed at uplifting young Nigerians. Key among these are the Youth Investment Fund, the iDICE Programme, and the National Youth Development Bank.
Shettima emphasized that President Tinubu’s focus on youth is evident not only in his policies but also in his strategic appointments, demonstrating the administration’s strong belief in the potential of Nigerian youths.
“The youth are the lifeblood of any nation, and Mr. President is fully aware of this,” Shettima remarked, reaffirming the administration’s dedication to addressing the concerns and aspirations of young people across the country.
He added, “I want to assure you that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu genuinely prioritizes the interests of the youth, as reflected in the numerous programmes that this administration has initiated and plans to undertake.”
Senator Shettima also expressed confidence in the administration’s ability to address the concerns raised by various stakeholders and appealed for patience as the government’s plans and programmes take shape.
He commended the APC youth wing’s leadership for their dedication, commitment, and patience, assuring that the group’s requests would be addressed in due course.
Earlier, National Youth Leader Dayo Israel thanked the Vice President for his steadfast support of the nation’s youth. He noted that the visit aimed to express solidarity with the government and brief Senator Shettima on the youth wing’s programmes designed to engage Nigerian youths, irrespective of their socio-political backgrounds.
Israel revealed that the APC Youth Wing has developed a four-year strategic plan to help young Nigerians navigate challenges and seize opportunities in diverse fields both within and outside the country.
He listed initiatives such as the Enterprise-Skills Development Training (EDET) Programme, the Workplace Readiness & Employability Skills Training Programme (WREST-P), the Progressive Youth Exchange Programme, and the Progressive Youth Leadership Summit, among others.
The APC youth leader also extended an invitation to the Vice President to attend the upcoming Progressive Youth Leadership Summit, themed “Shaping the Future We Want: Restiveness, Inclusion, Development, Action.”
