WAFU B U-20 Championship: Flying Eagles through to semi-final after 2-1 win over Côte d’Ivoire

The Flying Eagles of Nigeria have qualified for the semi-final of the ongoing U-20 WAFU B Championship in Togo.

The Nigerian team sealed their place in the last four with a 2-1 victory over the Young Elephants of Côte d’Ivoire in their final group game at the Municipal Stadium in Lomé.

The result secured Nigeria’s spot in the semi-finals, alongside Côte d’Ivoire, after all three teams in the group finished level on points.

The Flying Eagles had earlier lost 0-1 to Burkina Faso in their group opener, while the Ivorians defeated Burkina Faso by the same scoreline in the second match of the group.

Kparobo Arierhi and Clinton Jephta were the goalscorers for Nigeria.

Nigeria will face Niger on Sunday for a place in the final, as they aim to retain the championship title.
