Wale Edun lauds World Bank’s Zainab Ahmed’s contributions to Nigeria’s economic development

The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, has commended, Executive Director for Africa Constituency 3 at the World Bank (ED ANSA), Zainab Ahmed for her contributions to financial governance and economic development, both nationally and internationally.

The Director, Press and Public Relations, Federal Ministry of Finance, Mohammed Manga in a statement stated that the Minister was  alongside Minister of State for Finance, Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite, and senior ministry officials, including the Permanent Secretary Federal Ministry of Finance Mrs Lydia Shehu Jafiya and the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary Special Duties Mr Raymond Omenka Omachi hosted a dinner in honour of Dr. Ahmed, Executive Director f during her official visit to Nigeria.

Edun emphasised the importance of collaboration between Nigeria, international financial institutions, and global partners to drive economic progress.

Dr. Ahmed expressed gratitude for the warm reception, highlighting ongoing discussions on improving private sector access to financing, leveraging new financial instruments, and accelerating critical infrastructure projects funded by the World Bank. She reaffirmed the World Bank’s commitment to supporting Nigeria’s economic development.

Minister of State for Finance, Dr. Uzoka-Anite also congratulated Dr. Ahmed on her new role and assured her of continued collaboration.
