‘We remain strong, united’ – Ondo PDP insists after top leaders left for ADC

By Boye Oyeyemi –
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State has reaffirmed its unity and strength amid rising political realignments and coalitions across the country.
The party leadership, in a joint statement signed by key stakeholders, dismissed claims linking the PDP to any merger or alliance, insisting that no formal discussions or agreements have been initiated with any political group.
The statement was signed by Sen. Bode Olajumoke, Life Member, Board of Trustees; Dr. Eddy Olafeso, Board of Trustees Member; Barr. Debo Ologunagba, National Publicity Secretary, National Executive Committee Member, among others.
WESTERN POST had reported the defection of top leaders of the opposition party, including former governorship candidates, Eyitayo Jegede and Agboola Ajayi to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Reacting to the development, the party urged its members and supporters not to be swayed by “temporary alignments” or speculative reports.
It emphasised that the PDP remains focused on its mission to rescue and reposition Nigeria and Ondo State through the ballot, noting that the loyalty of its members and the strength of its grassroots structure remain its biggest assets.
Describing the current political season as one prone to distractions and confusion, the party called on members to stay committed, mobilised, and prepared for the tasks ahead.
It stressed that now is not the time to waver but to organise and remain loyal to the party’s vision for good governance.
