Western Post publisher, Rahman, appointed Tinubu’s SSA

Publisher of Western Post, Tunde Rahman has been appointed as the Senior Special Assistant on Media to President Bola Tinubu.
Rahman’s appointment was one of the 20 new appointments made by President Tinubu as Senior Special Assistants, Special Assistants and Personal Assistants.
Others appointed are Dr Adekunle Tinubu who will serve as the president’s personal physician, while Prince Damilotun Aderemi was appointed Senior Special Assistant (Private Secretary). Ibrahim Masari who was the vice presidential candidate placeholder of the All Progressives Congress before the nomination of Vice President Kashim Shettima was also appointed Senior Special Assistant (Political Matters).
Others are Toyin Subair – Senior Special Assistant (Domestic); O’tega Ogra – Senior Special Assistant (Digital/New Media); Demola Oshodi – Senior Special Assistant (Protocol); Tope Ajayi – Senior Special Assistant (Media & Public Affairs); Yetunde Sekoni – Senior Special Assistant; Motunrayo Jinadu – Senior Special Assistant; Segun Dada – Special Assistant (Social Media); and Paul Adekanye – Special Assistant (Logistics).
Friday Soton – Special Assistant (Housekeeping); Shitta-Bey Akande – Special Assistant (Catering); Nosa Asemota – Special Assistant (Visual Communication) Personal Photographer; Kamal Yusuf – Personal Assistant (Special Duties); Wale Fadairo – Personal Assistant (General Duties); Sunday Moses – Personal Assistant (Videography); and Taiwo Okanlawon – Personal Assistant (State Photographer).
Rahman, who hails from Iwo, Osun State, was Tinubu’s media aide before he was elected president after being appointed in 2016.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science, a Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism and a Master of Science Degree in Communication Studies from the Lagos State University and a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Leicester.
His journalism career spanned over three decades from 1989 as a Political Correspondent with Lagos Horizon, a community newspaper, before later moving to Daily Times where he rose to the position of Political Editor.
From Daily Times, he moved to the Punch newspapers as the News Editor/Assistant Editor at its Abuja office and later rose to become its Group News Editor at its headquarters in Lagos before resigning in 2004 to join THISDAY as the Deputy Editor of the Sunday title, rising to become the Editor of the Saturday and Sunday titles of the paper
He quit THISDAY to float WesternPost which was launched on September 15, 2015.
