‘Wike was envious when I rolled with Amaechi, I ‘tooched’ him up later,’ says Dele Momodu

Media mogul and publisher of Ovation Magazine, Dele Momodu, has fired back at Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, accusing him of envy and ingratitude.
In an interview on Politics Today, aired on Channels Television on Friday, Wike disparaged Momodu, alleging that he drooled while eating.
Responding to Wike’s comments, Momodu described the minister as “a bull in a china shop” and claimed that the former Rivers governor once admired him from afar when he was close to Wike’s political mentor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi.
“He used to watch me, perhaps enviously, when I rolled with his boss, Amaechi,” Momodu said in a strongly worded statement shared late Friday. “He was our boy back then, but too much money has now turned him into a rude kid.”
Momodu recounted how he once granted Wike a right of reply following a controversial interview with IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu, and was later invited to Port Harcourt by Wike for media coverage of his projects. According to him, Wike regularly sought his presence for image-boosting photoshoots and even took fashion cues from him.
“I ‘tooched’ him up like a beauty therapist,” Momodu wrote. “I introduced him to exclusive champagnes and perfumes, which he often asked his ADC to stash in his room.”
He also dismissed Wike’s claim that he once fed him. “As stupendously wealthy as he claims to be, his crass food was nothing to savour,” Momodu said, adding that he had been “balling globally with the high and mighty” long before Wike obtained his first passport.
Momodu further revealed that he has requested a right of reply on Politics Today to publicly address Wike’s remarks and present evidence of their past interactions.
