Nigerian singer Reekado Banks has disclosed that his colleague, Wizkid, recently expressed regret over their 2020 fallout involving the release of their collaborative track, Omo Olomo, during the height of the EndSARS protests.

In a recent appearance on The Esther Show, Reekado recounted how tensions flared after the song’s release was announced amid the nationwide protests. Wizkid had publicly slammed Reekado at the time, calling him a “fool” and “clout animal,” which shocked many fans.

Reekado explained that he was initially against releasing the song at that moment, but pressure from his management led to its rollout.

According to him, the two have since reconciled following a recent visit by Wizkid to his restaurant, where they shared a conversation about the incident.

“He [Wizkid] came to my restaurant recently and we had a conversation. He was a bit regretful about the way he handled things and admitted he shouldn’t have responded like that,” Reekado said.

He added that Wizkid also mentioned his past interactions with Don Jazzy and expressed remorse over some of his earlier actions in the industry.

Reekado revealed that they found common ground through personal losses, noting that both had recently lost their mothers.

“He said we’re among a few in the industry who’ve lost their mums recently. He felt bad about what happened and we’re good now,” Reekado said.
