Women Affairs Minister commends Army for Lt. Colonel Anele as first female spokesperson

The Minister of Women Affairs, Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, has congratulated Lieutenant Colonel Anele Onyinyechi Appolonia on her appointment as the Acting Director of Army Public Relations, describing it as a historic breakthrough for women in the Nigerian Army.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Minister said Lieutenant Colonel Anele’s elevation to the key position highlights the growing importance of gender inclusivity in leadership roles within the military.

Hajiya Sulaiman-Ibrahim praised the new Army spokesperson’s leadership skills, professionalism, and innovative approach to public relations, noting that her appointment would further enhance transparency and communication between the military and the public.

“Lieutenant Colonel Anele’s appointment serves as a powerful inspiration for women across Nigeria, demonstrating that with hard work and determination, they can excel in various fields, including the military,” the Minister said.
