President Bola Tinubu has urged Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State to focus on serving the people and building on the legacy of his late predecessor, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.

In a statement released on Monday by his spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu congratulated Aiyedatiwa on his swearing-in and the start of his new term. He also commended the governor’s electoral success and emphasized the responsibility that comes with the mandate.

“You have a rare privilege to succeed your illustrious predecessor, who worked for the growth and development of the state and advanced the progress of Nigeria as a whole,” Tinubu said.

The president urged Aiyedatiwa to prioritize the well-being of Ondo State residents by expanding economic opportunities, reducing poverty, improving security, and delivering critical infrastructure projects.

Assuring the newly inaugurated governor of his support, Tinubu pledged to work closely with Aiyedatiwa’s administration to bring prosperity to the state.

“I urge you to work in the best interest of the people of the state and our country as a whole. I will be your partner in progress to usher in a new era of prosperity for the people of Ondo State,” Tinubu affirmed.

Governor Aiyedatiwa officially took office following the passing of Akeredolu, who was widely respected for his contributions to the state’s development and his role in national progress.

As Aiyedatiwa’s tenure begins, expectations are high for him to build on Akeredolu’s achievements, focusing on economic growth, infrastructure development, and improved security for the people of Ondo State.
