You can’t appoint sole administrator for Shooting Stars, LMC fires Oyo govt

The League Management Company, organisers of the Nigeria Professional Football League has said it would not recognise the Sole Administrator appointed by the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde for Shooting Stars Football Club.

This was contained in a letter addressed to Secretary of the Oyo State Government by LMC Chief Operating Officer, Salihu Abubakar.

According to the LMC, Oyo’s appointment of a sole administrator for Shooting, is at variance with Article 12 of the NFF Club Licensing Regulations, and also runs foul of Rule A6 of the Framework and Rules of the Nigeria Professional Football League.

The letter said no individual can singlehandedly run a club.

“It has come to our attention that a Sole Administrator has been appointed to manage the affairs of d1e club. This infers that all residual powers and responsibilities relating to the administration or the club will be vested in a single individual, Instead of a constituted board of directors or group of administrators.

Consequent to the above, the purported appointment is Invalid and will not be acknowledged by the League Management Company (LMC). It is therefore advised that this appointment be reviewed to ensure compliance with the provisions of extant football regulations,” the LMC said.

Makinde had approved the appointment of Olaniyan David, a former Deputy Speaker of the State’s House of Assembly, as the Shooting’s Sole Administrator.
