The Chief Imam of Lekki Central Mosque, Ridhwan Jamiu, has commended President Bola Tinubu’s administration, noting that it has not disappointed Nigerians.
He urged the public to remain grateful to Allah during times of fortune and exhibit patience during adversity.

Imam Jamiu made these remarks on Friday when President Tinubu joined Muslim faithful to observe the Jumat prayer at the Lekki Central Mosque in Lagos.
This marks the President’s second public prayer appearance in Lagos, following his attendance at the Alausa Central Mosque the previous week.

In his sermon, the Imam emphasized the importance of unwavering hope and faith for believers, even during challenging times. He acknowledged the President’s presence with prayers for his success in steering Nigeria toward peace, security, and prosperity.
“We are proud of you,” Imam Jamiu said, recalling the mosque’s endorsement of the President during the election campaigns. “We thank God that you have not disappointed us. We know you are capable, sagacious, and competent. We believe and pray that you will not disappoint us. May Allah continue to guide you.”

The Imam also reminded the President of the weight of his responsibility, highlighting the need for accountability to both the people and Allah.
“Allah has entrusted Nigeria to you and will hold you accountable for this trust. Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said, ‘The most beloved of all people to Allah is the righteous and just leader.’ We see righteousness, fairness, and justice in you. Please sustain it,” he added.

Imam Jamiu further noted that the President bears the name “Ahmed,” one of the names of Prophet Muhammad, which signifies someone who performs praiseworthy deeds.
“This name has been reflected in your past actions, and we hope it continues to guide your leadership,” he concluded.
President Tinubu, who has been spending the festive season in Lagos, returned to the state on December 18 after presenting the 2025 budget to the National Assembly.
In a show of respect for victims of recent stampedes in Oyo, Anambra, and the Federal Capital Territory, the President canceled public engagements, including a boat regatta, last weekend.
On December 23, he hosted the maiden Presidential Media Chat at his residence on Oyinkan Abayomi Drive in Ikoyi. As part of the holiday festivities, he has also been receiving private visitors daily.
