165 youths complete filmmaking training at KAP Academy in Oyo

A total of 165 young aspiring filmmakers drawn from the 33 local government areas of Oyo State have successfully completed a 10-day residency training at the KAP Film and Television Academy.
The initiative was a partnership between the Oyo State Government and the KAP Academy, with the state government sponsoring the participants as part of its youth empowerment and creative industry development efforts.
Speaking at the closing ceremony held at the KAP Film Village and Resorts, Igbojaye, the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr. Wasiu Ajani Adewale Olatubosun, who represented Governor Seyi Makinde, commended the participants for their dedication throughout the training period.
Dr. Olatubosun noted that the collaboration aligns with Governor Makinde’s vision of investing in human capital development and leveraging the creative economy to drive sustainable growth in Oyo State.
He urged the graduates to serve as good ambassadors of the academy and the state, and to apply their newly acquired skills toward contributing meaningfully to Oyo’s socio-economic development.
Also speaking, the founder of the academy, Kunle Afolayan, charged the graduates to use their acquired skills to positively impact lives.
