2026 Hajj: Kwara secures 3,762 slots, each pilgrim to pay ₦8.5 million

The Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has secured 3,762 slots for intending pilgrims from the state in the 2026 Hajj exercise.
Briefing journalists in Ilorin, the Executive Secretary of the Board, Alhaji AbdulSalam Abdulkadir, said the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) approved the allocation and fixed the fare at ₦8.5 million per pilgrim.
According to him, the Board has commenced sales of forms and registration for interested applicants, with strict requirements including an active international passport and full compliance with prescribed procedures.
Alhaji Abdulkadir noted that Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has eased the process by approving an initial ₦5 million deposit for pilgrims, with the balance payable before the deadline of October 8, 2025.
He assured that the state government, in collaboration with NAHCON, would put in place adequate arrangements to guarantee the welfare, safety, and spiritual fulfilment of pilgrims during the sacred journey.
