2027: ADC vows to resist rigging, play by electoral rules – David Mark

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has pledged to comply with electoral regulations ahead of the 2027 elections but warned that it would resist any attempt to manipulate the process or deny the party victory through rigging.
The party’s national chairman, David Mark, stated this on Wednesday in Abuja when the governing council of the Savannah Centre for Diplomacy, Democracy and Development, led by former Chief Justice of Nigeria, Olukayode Ariwoola, visited the ADC national headquarters.
Mark said the party was committed to conducting its activities in line with democratic principles and electoral rules.
“We hold ourselves to the highest standards of good conduct as a political party. We will play by the rules,” he said.
“But we will not accept rigging or allow ourselves to be rigged out. We are committed to playing politics in a manner that promotes public confidence in democracy.”
The visit formed part of the centre’s engagement with political parties and other stakeholders ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The governing council, popularly known as the “Council of the Wise”, was reconstituted in June to engage political parties, institutions and other stakeholders on measures to promote peaceful, free and credible elections.
During the meeting, Ariwoola urged the ADC leadership to ensure that its candidates, members and supporters complied with the rules and guidelines issued by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
