2027 elections: BAT bloggers organisation launches nationwide digital mobilisation

By Kunle Sanni –

The BAT Bloggers Organisation (BBO), a nationwide network of digital media strategists, political communicators and bloggers, has announced the launch of a coordinated digital mobilisation campaign across Nigeria ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The organisation said the initiative will span the 36 states of the federation, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), all 774 local government areas and political wards nationwide. According to BBO, the campaign is aimed at shaping public discourse, strengthening civic participation and amplifying governance-related narratives through structured and ethical digital engagement.

In a statement released on Tuesday, BBO described the campaign as a large-scale, youth-driven digital mobilisation focused on political education, democratic participation and national development. The group said it intends to deploy its digital platforms to promote unity, peace and political stability, while highlighting government policies, reforms and development efforts.

BBO stated that a key focus of the campaign is projecting the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu and supporting leadership continuity beyond 2027 through issue-based digital communication and verified information.

With coordinators and digital mobilisers operating at national, zonal, state, local government and ward levels, the organisation said it will disseminate coordinated content across major social media platforms, including Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and WhatsApp. The content, according to the statement, will focus on governance outcomes, economic reforms, national security, youth inclusion and sustainable development.

The organisation emphasised that all activities under the campaign would comply strictly with Nigerian electoral laws and Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) guidelines. It also pledged adherence to professional standards, including accuracy, balance and zero tolerance for hate speech, misinformation or incitement.

BBO outlined several objectives of the initiative, including mobilising and educating young Nigerians on democratic participation, sustaining political enlightenment campaigns, building digital capacity among its members and creating platforms for dialogue between youths and policymakers. The group also said it plans to collaborate with civil society organisations, electoral bodies and media institutions to promote peaceful and credible elections.

Speaking on behalf of the organisation, the national leadership said the goal is to ensure digital media contributes positively to Nigeria’s democratic process.
