2027: Ondo-born lawyer declares for Owo/Ose reps seat, promises economic development

An Owo-born legal practitioner, Ghani Rotimi Arobo, declared his intention to contest the House of Representatives seat for Owo/Ose Federal Constituency of Ondo State under the All Progressives Congress.

The declaration, held on Thursday in Owo, was witnessed by a large turnout of party leaders, and supporters as the aspirant unveiled plans to reposition the constituency’s economy.

Arobo said his ambition was driven by a vision to transform the area into a self-sustaining industrial hub, promising to establish 100 cottage industries across key sectors.

“I enter this race with a blend of legal expertise and corporate experience. Representation is about identifying gaps and applying the right solutions to fix them,” he said.

“I do not seek to create something entirely new; I seek to unlock the latent power of the Owo/Ose people, our land and our heritage,” Arobo added.

The aspirant also pledged to boost security through his support for the Amotekun Corps and advocated state policing, while outlining plans to leverage the Electricity Act to drive industrial growth.

“Through a Constituency Energy Hub, we will promote solar mini-grids and small-scale manufacturing to ensure our communities have reliable power,” the legal practitioner stated.

Arobo further highlighted plans for youth development, women inclusion and improved water access, stressing that his vision is to move Owo/Ose from a handout economy to a productive, industrialised constituency driven by its people.
