The Ekiti State Police Command has stationed security personnel across approved Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board Computer-Based Test centres to ensure smooth conduct of the ongoing examinations.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Michael Falade, disclosed this during an inspection tour of selected centres in Ondo.
He explained that the move followed a directive from the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, mandating commands nationwide to guarantee safety for candidates and examination officials.
“We have deployed adequate personnel to all centres to ensure that the examination is conducted without disruption,” Falade said.
The police chief noted that officers drawn from area commands, the police mobile force, divisions, tactical units, and intelligence departments had been strategically positioned for effective monitoring.
He warned officers against misconduct, stressing that acts such as extortion or unprofessional behaviour would attract sanctions.
“Any conduct capable of bringing the Force into disrepute will not be tolerated under any circumstance,” he added.
Falade also urged candidates to remain law-abiding and avoid any form of examination malpractice, while calling on residents to support security efforts and report suspicious activities to the nearest police station or via the command’s emergency line.
