2027 Oyo governorship candidate yet to be selected – APC

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State has dismissed reports that Senator Sharafadeen Alli has been chosen as the party’s consensus candidate for the 2027 governorship election.

Describing such claims as media speculation, the party urged the public to disregard them, stressing that Senator Alli was never endorsed during a meeting at the Lagos residence of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Oyo APC Publicity Secretary, Olawale Sadare, further indicated that the party has not selected any candidate, adding that attention is currently on the party’s xonal convention in Lagos, followed by the national convention in Abuja.

He said, “I’m not aware of any meeting where someone was picked as the party’s consensus candidate for the 2027 governorship election in Oyo State. When it is time, the party’s candidate will emerge among the aspirants. We do not react to media speculation and rumors.”
