273 Nigerian golfers set to compete in Ilorin for ICMA Pro-Am Golf Open

Nigerian golfers totalling 273, including top-ranked golfers, Sunday Olapade and Kabir Mohammed, will compete at the highly anticipated ICMA Pro-Am Golf Open in Ilorin.
This prestigious event is scheduled to take place from October 31 to November 3 at the esteemed Ilorin Golf Club, renowned for its lush greens and challenging terrain that test even the most seasoned golfers.
Jide Allen, captain of the club, expressed his excitement for the tournament, which will mark the fourth open tournament hosted by Ilorin Golf Club. This milestone solidifies the club’s status as a leading golfing destination in Nigeria, attracting players from across the country to participate in this competitive event.
The tournament promises a diverse lineup of players, ranging from seasoned professionals to enthusiastic amateurs in category 1.
ICMA, a dedicated supporter of golf, recently showed its commitment to the sport by donating a tractor for the maintenance of the club’s pristine 18-hole course.
In addition, ICMA has allocated a prize fund of N15 million across various categories, highlighting their dedication to promoting golf in Nigeria.
In the professional division, the ultimate winner will receive a prize of N1.7 million, reflecting the competitive spirit and talent on display during the tournament. As Jide Allen noted, winners in other professional categories will also receive descending prizes, adding further excitement and motivation for all participants competing on the renowned greens of Ilorin Golf Club.
