3 rescued, many trapped in Lagos building collapse

Many people were trapped under a rubble after a Storey building located at Idi-Araba in the Mushin area of Lagos State collapsed.
Eyewitnesses said that the incident occurred on Sunday afternoon at about 3pm as the one storey building which was under construction went down.
Confirming the incident, the Director of Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Margaret Adeseye, in a statement, said ” a building under construction at the one-storey level suddenly collapsed at 96 Ishaga Road, opposite Idi Araba Central Mosque, Mushin, Lagos. The distress call was received at approximately 15:30 hours”.
Adeseye stated that three adults were rescued alive with varying degrees of injury, saying that search and rescue operations still ongoing.
“Three adults male has been rescued alive with varying degrees of injury. They were attended to at the scene before being transferred to the hospital for further treatment by the Lagos State Ambulance Service.
“Search and rescue operations are still ongoing.The cause of the emergency is currently under investigation”.
