No fewer than 3,000 elderly residents in Ondo State have benefitted from a free medical outreach organised by the PBAT Mandate Elders’ Forum over the past six months.

The group, which is dedicated to mobilising support for President Bola Tinubu, disclosed this during its March meeting held on Wednesday in Akure.

Speaking at the gathering, the forum’s facilitator, Elder Demola Ijabiyi, said the initiative had significantly improved the wellbeing of elderly people across the state, explaining that although the group was primarily established to promote support for the President, it had gone further to provide humanitarian services, particularly in the area of healthcare.

He added that the outreach, sponsored by the Minister of Interior, Dr Bunmi Tunji-Ojo, had enabled many elderly citizens to access medical care at no cost.

According to him, feedback from beneficiaries had been overwhelmingly positive, reflecting the impact of the intervention on their lives. He also noted that members of the All Progressives Congress in the state had resolved their internal disagreements and were now more united.

While urging residents to sustain their support for the President by promoting his policies and programmes at the grassroots level, Ijabiyi further called on members of the forum and other support groups to sensitise eligible voters ahead of future elections.

In her remarks, the Assistant Secretary of the group, Princess Bukky Abike-Oluderu, said the March meeting provided an opportunity to review the forum’s activities and strengthen its healthcare interventions.

She commended the administration of President Tinubu for what she described as notable developmental strides in the state, while appealing to women to rally support for the government to ensure continued progress.
