A House of Representatives aspirant for Okitipupa/Irele Federal Constituency, Barrister Wale Omoniyi, has submitted a petition to the Appeal Committee of the All Progressives Congress over the conduct and outcome of the party’s primary election.
Western Post had earlier reported that the APC directed all aggrieved House of Representatives aspirants to channel their complaints through the party’s Primary Appeal Committee.
As a result, Omoniyi submitted the petition shortly after the conclusion of the exercise, insisting that the move was necessary to defend the integrity of the electoral process within the party.
The aspirant said the petition reflected the concerns of party members and stakeholders across the constituency who desired fairness and transparency in the conduct of the primary. He equally expressed confidence in the APC leadership and the party’s internal dispute resolution mechanism, saying the appeal process would ensure justice and proper review of the complaints raised.
According to him, the matter was beyond personal ambition, noting that it represented the collective interest of loyal party members committed to due process.
Omoniyi also maintained that his supporters remained determined to pursue the case through lawful and constitutional means until a final decision was reached.
The politician further assured members of the Possibility Agenda Movement that the team would remain focused and united throughout the appeal process.
Meanwhile, he urged supporters across the 23 wards in Okitipupa/Irele Federal Constituency to remain peaceful and avoid actions capable of causing division within the party.
