Wike vows Rainbow Coalition will deliver Rivers, Abuja for Tinubu in 2027

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has expressed confidence that the Rivers Rainbow Coalition will secure Rivers State and Abuja for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.
Wike spoke on Tuesday while addressing members of the Rivers Rainbow Coalition Youths in Port Harcourt, where he urged supporters to campaign on the basis of infrastructure delivery and tangible benefits to the people.
He said voters should assess the Tinubu administration based on projects executed rather than political promises.
“We are not playing politics for the sake of it without bringing benefits to our people,” Wike said.
“We are looking for those who will do something that will positively impact Nigerians and the Rivers people.”
The minister described the Rainbow Coalition as a platform for supporting purposeful leadership and sustaining development, while urging its members to mobilise support for Tinubu ahead of the next presidential election.
He also linked Rivers State’s political future to the benefits it receives from the Federal Government, citing what he described as the presence of at least 49 Rivers indigenes in prominent federal positions.
Wike criticised opposition politicians, including former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar and former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi, accusing them of inconsistency and questioning their credibility.
